Basketball is one of the toughest sports in college athletics and you must be willing to work hard and compete for your place in the team to earn your college basketball scholarship.
As a high school basketball player a good idea could be to attend college basketball camps as well as enter tournaments outside your high school. This will increase your exposure and help with your college basketball recruiting process.
While in many other sports the level is higher internationally, basketball is the sport where the level in USA is higher than any other countries. That’s why college coaches are not looking to recruit international basketball players as actively as they do in other sports.
That makes it harder for international basketball players to get recruited with an basketball scholarship.
