How many young tennis players have not dreamed of becoming a professional tennis player?
We all know how difficult playing tennis at a professional international level is. Many tennis players have therefore decided to come to the U.S. and play at the university level with college tennis scholarships.
College Tennis remains to be one of the most competitive and highest levels you can play tennis in. College Tennis is a great option for students who just graduated from high school and still want to play tennis at a high level. The top schools in college tennis have a very high level and many college tennis players have pursued a professional career after they college career with great success.
So how many tennis scholarships do universities have?
There are normally around 4.5 college tennis scholarships in a men’s university tennis team and around 6 to 8 college tennis scholarships in a women’s university tennis team. To get recruited as a tennis player it is important to have a decent national ranking and a good tennis recruiting video.
There are many different organizations and sections in college tennis, normally the highest level would be D-I but there are universities and colleges in D-II, NAIA, and Junior College that have teams with a very high level.
ICAC Sports recommend tennis players who like to study in the U.S. with a college tennis scholarship to apply so that they enter their first school year in the fall semester (August). This is to be better prepared both athletically and academically. The College Tennis season starts in the spring (Jan).So make sure you contact your potential universities in advance to increase your chances to get recruited with college tennis scholarships.

It is expensive to study in the United States. As a university tennis player you have the opportunity to receive a valuable tennis scholarship. A tennis scholarship can amount to an annual value of $ 10,000 to $ 50,000 U.S. dollar a semester.
There are hundreds of U.S. universities that are recruiting tennis players each season.
